Users review: In 1979, in the fictional town of Lillian, Ohio, a prepubescent child named Joe Lamb is trying to cope with the recent death of his mother, who was killed in an accident at the plant. It was made, emotional, funny, scary, exciting movie that enthralls the audience how good Spielbergs classic 80s do. And this is coming from someone who has been accused of worshiping Spielberg. Abrams again the look and feel of vintage Spielberg experts, down to the last detail. For Spielberg fan, an absolute joy behold.But Abrams somehow managed to do it without completely sacrificing his own unique voice as a director. Its got a turn to lose his personality Star Trek, and, like most Abrams projects, a leading lady who runs it all. In this case, they are young Elle Fanning, who, like Alice, projects such as the right combination of innocence of children and the years ahead of maturity, that you can not take my eyes off him whenever he's on screen. The entire cast is superb, especially Joel Courtney as Joe, and Riley Griffiths as Charles, but Fanning steals the movie. We become fully engaged with these characters in a way that rarely worked with Hollywood hero in adults.
