Users review: Following the announcement that the girl with the Dragon Tattoo film processing was English, I decided that the hype had built to a point where I just had to read the material for myself. Though not without flaws, Dragon Tattoo is an excellent story with an important mission to raise awareness about violence against women. Simple Days after book, I watched the Swedish film. The hype train has me excited for excellent thriller. The hype train let me down.I left cold and slightly annoyed by Swedish adaptation. A ton of important plot elements were left out, some were inexplicably added (Blomkvist memories of the island was too important and artificial), and Rapace felt totally wrong when Lisbeth. She was brilliant and violent, but lacked the quiet thoughtfulness of the original character. It does not come as autistic and emotionally disturbed, just bratty and rude. Worst of all, I was always confused by too fast, take on strange new story. As a lover of foreign films, I usually grind my teeth when I hear that the United States is developing a remake. But I found myself desperate for this one. I needed a movie that actually gave me the experience of reading the book for the first time, which made me care for Lisbeth and that really disturbed me. Fortunately, the American adaptation (not a remake) delivered exactly what I was looking for. Those who say this is not necessary or rehash version has seen many different Swedish Girl with the Dragon Tattoo than seen. The American administration is packed with scenes that either skimmed or completely off the Swedish version. However, despite more robust the Dragon Tattoo English-language incredible pace, feel less rushed yet hitting the important plot points. The characters have time to develop and grow on you, clue search makes more sense, and the murderer is more horrifying. Zaillian scripts know exactly what to omit and what to change (although the end, reflecting the book ends, could have been better organized). Craig, Mara, and even Plummer are spot-on in their roles as characters and feel full. Women, particularly living in non Rapace Lisbeth Larsson. It captures silent nature of Lisbeth perfectly borderline autistic. Her fragile body and alien appearance even match the books description. It appears to be vulnerable, but clearly regret it over time. Its captivating performance.If someone were to ask me personally what version to watch, I would say without hesitation that this is the rare occasion where the American adaptation is superior. I do not think it was possible to stay as true to the story under three hours.
